Throughout my years of working with people, I have come to a realization that continues to inspire me again and again. The deeper I entered the work with consciousness, the more I understood that the deepest transformation does not happen by becoming someone else, but by remembering the part of ourselves that has always been present beneath all the layers of our life challenges.
When a small child enters this world, they do not wonder whether they are good enough, whether they deserve love, or whether they are allowed to express their joy. Their natural state is openness, curiosity, and connection with life. This is the playful Divine Child within us. Later, through our experiences, environment, expectations, and pain, different imprints of life begin to accumulate around this natural state. We start protecting ourselves, adapting, proving ourselves, and slowly forgetting the part of us that once experienced life with greater freedom, innocence, and ease.
But this part of us never truly disappears. Throughout the years of working with people, I have witnessed again and again that when a person moves beyond the surface layers of their personality, when the mind becomes quiet and, even for a moment, the stories about who we need to become, what we need to achieve, and everything we have not yet accomplished begin to dissolve… we can very quickly enter a state of peace. A softness appears, together with an all-encompassing feeling of connection with the universe. Beneath all the layers of our life, regardless of what we have experienced, there is always a part of us that has never forgotten who we truly are.
Different spiritual traditions speak about a state of oneness, a field of consciousness where the feeling of complete separation dissolves and where we no longer experience ourselves as something disconnected from life, but as part of a much greater whole. Through my work, I have returned to this same realization again and again: our deepest nature is much closer to love than it is to fear.
Summer is a beautiful time to remember this. When we pause by the sea, feel the warmth of the sun on our skin, look at the mountains, the trees, a sunset, or the face of someone we love, we often do not need great explanations. Something deep within us becomes still for a moment, and we finally stop worrying, fixing, controlling, and simply allow life to touch our true essence.
One of the most beautiful things I have discovered over the years is that through our heart we can learn to perceive life again. Just as we train our body, we can also train our consciousness. Every time we consciously notice something beautiful, every time we feel gratitude, send someone a sincere loving thought, or open ourselves to the present moment, we awaken the pathways back to this natural state of wonder.
It is important that we do not wait for love to come to us from the outside. Love is a state of consciousness that is worth awakening within ourselves first… and the rest will follow.
